School Nurses “Assemble” and share their super powers in the fight against some common villains. Discuss with School Nurse Superheroes how to combat problems in your schools, such as stubborn administrators, difficult parents, non-compliant students, or that tenacious nemesis …….Head Lice!

Refresh and recharge by eating, drinking, and connecting with allies from all around South Dakota.

Do not fear! Be empowered with courage and knowledge as you listen to our School Nurse Superheroes share some amazing adventures in the field of School Health Services.

10:15-11:45 How to advocate for school nursing issues on the state and local level.
Presenter : Susan Kelts
Learn how to take the lead on issues that affect school nursing practice and the health of children. Find the power in joining forces and letting your expert voices be heard in our communities and in our legislature.
11:45-12:45 Lunch: Sandwiches, Soup, and Salad
12:45-2:15 SDSNA Annual meeting
Membership in NASN/SDSNA can transform your nursing practice by providing you with educational resources along with networking and leadership opportunities.
Board Members will report on the activities of the National School Nurse Association (NASN) and South Dakota School Nurse Association (SDSNA). Members are asked to vote for 2017-18 officers and participate in committee planning meetings.

2:30-3:30 Dental Coalition Presenters: Paul Knecht and Connie Halverson
Discussion with School Nurses on ways to improve dental care for South Dakota’s children
3:30 Closing and Silent Auction winners announced.
